Starkrimson pears have a remarkable deep red exterior and a high juice content that sets them apart from other varieties. They were discovered in the early 1950’s in Missouri as a branch of red pears on a tree which typically produced green pears. The crimson color dresses up any salad and the sweet, juicy profile makes it a great fresh eating pear.
