Red D’Anjous were originally discovered in the 1950’s in Medford, Oregon from naturally occurring bud sports on Green D’Anjou trees. The pear has a very similar egg – shaped silhouette to a Green D’Anjou pear. The smooth skin and dark red color brightens any dish. Great for baking, poaching or eating fresh.
