Granny Green Juice
Sometimes a smoothie is too filling and a glass of water is a little too boring. That is when it’s time to reach for a green juice made from tart Granny Smith apples and fresh vegetables. Homemade green juice has a vibrant taste, is refreshing and healthy without weighing you down with extra calories.
If you don’t have a juicer you can still make this with a blender and a strainer; see our instructions below.
YIELD: 2 servings using juicer, 4-6 servings using blender

Ingredients
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 2 cups spinach packed, or a mixture of juicing greens
- 1/2 of a lemon
- 1 inch fresh ginger
- 1 medium cucumber
- 2 stalks of celery
- 3-4 cups of filtered water (if using a blender)
Method
Juicer Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to your juicer and proceed according to the manufacturer’s directions.
- Serve immediately or keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Shake before drinking.
Blender Instructions
- Position a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag over a large bowl. Set aside.
- Prepare the vegetables: Peel, core and roughly chop the apple, peel the cucumber, scrape out the seeds and roughly chop. Chop the celery into 3-inch segments. Juice the lemon.
- Add all of the prepared ingredients to the blender along with the ginger, greens and water. Blend on high speed until all the ingredients have been pulverized.
- Pour the juice into the strainer; you might have to do this in batches depending on the size of your equipment until all of the juice has been strained.
- Serve immediately or keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Shake before drinking.
